What determines happiness and what are its effects in society? What factor does money play in our happiness?
I think that there is a minimum amount of money people need to be happy, but after that more money does not affect happiness.
We are always told that “money can’t buy happiness” and hear stories about people who are extremely successful, but are not happy. On the other hand, we are also told to go to college so that we can become more successful, make more money, and have a better life. I am at a point in my life where I am deciding on colleges and careers for the future and want to know if making more money will make me happier, or if I should focus more on other things.
Questions I hope to answer:
- How is happiness measured?
- What are the other factors in happiness/ what can money not buy?
- What is the minimum amount of money people need to be happy?
- What are things you need to be happy?
