Hypothesis: Companies like Netflix are able to thrive because they stay ahead of the technology curve and cater to the needs and desires of the changing population.
Why do I want to study Netflix’s success?
I once heard that, at any one time, anywhere up to ⅔ of internet usage in the US was devoted to watching Netflix. Whether or not this specific fact is true, Netflix is undoubtedly one of the most popular websites there is and I, personally, can attest to its high rate of usage. This personal connection to an exponentially growing business sparked my interest in researching to find out why and how Netflix became such a superior entity.
Sub questions I hope to answer:
- Why do people watch Netflix? Why is it better than other online tv-viewing websites?
- Why has Netflix grown so much over the past decade?
- Is Netflix expected to continue growing, or will it level out? Or, will is possibly decline in the future?
