The Time of Advertising

In article I read from Proquest database the Los Angeles times author Richard Verrier goes over the total revenue that advertising had brought in that year, as well as how much it increased from last years total revenue. He also goes over why the sudden increase is starting to happen with motion picture marketing and advertising.

"The growth is the result of more new brands moving into cinema, the unique power of the movie theater as a venue for creative, engaging adverting, and a movement by agencies to a more video-natural approach that places cinema alongside TV and online platforms."

Verrier couldn't of explained the sudden growth any better, the movie platform is always changing allowing for more creative ways to advertise the motion picture. People nowadays want to see newer things faster, people get bored of the same thing over and over again and the cinema industry has the flexibility to allow for different ideas because it might appeal to some people.

"Cinema advertising revenues reached a record $677.9 million in 2013 and up 6.5% from last years total revenue. This marks the highest cinema advertising revenue since the council began measuring in 2002."
By this happening it allows for easier advertising and with more money to advertise with, they both work hand in hand together. Advertising and marketing bring in a huge income revenue and that's aside from tickets sales and the rest of income a movie brings in.

"We are optimistic about this Revenue momentum and the direction the marketplace is headed with a strong start to 2014 as we start upfront season"
I agree with what she is saying, I think that the momentum of the cinema industry is going in the right direction and a big part of that help is marketing and advertising the motion picture. Movies are still very popular especially with the new special effects of movies nowadays people will always stay interested in movies so the flow of income will never stop.
