Protecting the Earth

I chose my topic because I really love nature. It’s upsetting to me that we are polluting the Earth so quickly and unsustainably. I've always been passionate about this issue, because I spend a lot of my time outside.

Camping is one of my favorite things to do, and I won’t be able to do that if nature keeps getting destroyed. I used to go twice a year with my aunt and uncle, but now I go with my friends. I hope to continue this tradition throughout my life, especially when I have kids of my own.

I’m interested in the political side of saving the environment because I want to know what the government is doing to help sustain it.

Sub-Questions:

1. Do the people and the government feel that it’s their moral duty to help the environment?
2. Does the cost of helping it matter?
3. Is it ultimately the people’s or the government’s responsibility?
4. Should environmental education be mandatory?
