Why You Aren't Going To Make It

Acting is a hard job. It has so much failure and so little success its hard to understand why people want to pursue this career. People believe in luck, and hope that maybe them they can be the next person chosen to walk down the red carpet. The slim chance that they are going to get famous keeps going, but what they should realize is that they are never going to succeed in the tricky business called Hollywood.

It was too hard. The industry is too tough. The casting directors are unfair, there’s no parts for someone like you, you couldn’t get into drama school, the course wasn’t for you, you didn’t have a famous family member, you didn’t live in London, or Paris, New York or Hollywood, you’ll find a reason – you will, because to admit that you were lazy, distracted or afraid is crushing.
I agree with this statement to an extent. Not many people have enough motivation to continue acting after years of disappointment, but few will admit this. It is easy to blame it on outside factors, but people fail to realize that maybe acting isn’t for them. Acting takes years of searching for the right path, and the perfect role, but if people are not motivated, this can be too much.  To succeed in this career people need to fully commit themselves, and not allow for laziness, if they can;t do this, then they will fail.

Or you will settle for less. You will work small paid jobs where you work your ass off, but aside from the money, you get nothing and no show at progression in your acting career.
This happens to many actors every year. They can’t succeed in Hollywood so they decide to settle with low paying local jobs, where nobody knows who they are. This is a hard realization for most, but this is what people have to settle with. Making yourself known as an actor is so hard so this is the next option. People working in these small jobs still have the hope that they can make it big, so they continue, but their acting career is going nowhere. If they do these small jobs then they have to continue going to auditions, because nobody will be scouted from a small local theatre, you have to come to them.

Or choose to have the acting career you want. Choose it. Now. And do something about it now. A few people will now go on to do something about it. But most of you will get a little bit fired up, and then go back to being lazy, distracted and afraid, and doing NOTHING about it.
I disagree with this statement because most actors do try and do something about wanting to to be an actor. They have worked so hard and they can’t quit now. In the case of settling for small paid local jobs it just shows their true love for acting. If they weren’t fully committed to acting then they would try and find a higher paying job. People work hard for success there are just points in life when they realize their dream of being famous won’t happen. I believe that they aren’t being lazy, they are just accepting life for what it is.
