Science Says So!

Dina Spector, editor at Business Insider, created a list of 99 things that help to make people happier.  Of that list, only three of the items had anything to do with money or income, and the rest had to do with enjoying yourself, activities, or lifestyle choices.  The ones that really struck me were numbers 33-55.  Many of these things are simple, and can be done on a daily basis (some limited by location), but yet by taking a few extra minutes to focus on actually doing them, it can increase our overall happiness.

I don’t think that it could be summed up any better than how Jacob Sobroff put it saying that “scientifically speaking, caring about other people and doing good increases your happiness.”  This further supports what i had already read in my previous articles/posts that material goods and money have minimal to no effect on one’s happiness.  Everything ties together between the 99 things, the video, and the other articles and studies.  It is up to you to determine how happy you are going to be.  It can be a daily fluctuation but happiness is ultimately a long term goal.  It take multiple things to make a person happy and most of those things include other people, feelings, and experiences, the non-tangible things.
